Dawn Barton's Survival Story
When that first image on the left was taken, I was in the hospital. I was in the depths of cancer treatment, and I had all but given up on life. I was tired of fighting cancer, tired of being sick, and certain I would never have my old life back again.
And I was right; my old life was gone. God had something so much more for me! In the ten years following that photo, I became a grandmother to four cuties. I reached the heights of becoming the #7 Sales Director in the nation for Mary Kay cosmetics. My husband became sober after his addiction to alcohol (7 years sober now). I wrote a book and was named the ECPA New Christian Author of the Year. We moved to our dream property/compound with our parents and got a horse! And best of all, my faith exploded!
Whether you are in the throes of cancer treatment or at a place in your life that you think you have nothing else to give, know that God has so much more for you on the other side of this.
BIG beautiful, life-changing tsunamis of love and laughter await you, my friend. Your "right now" does not define your entire life, and one day you will see that this pain, in some strange way, may have been a gift—a gift you can share and help others during their struggles.
You are a precious gift to this world, and I am so glad you are here.
